Hannah's Hope...

My mom gave me the Amazon Kindle for Christmas and I have been reading all about it for the past few days. You literally can download books, magazines, newspapers and more from Amazon-dot-com. Of course each item has a cost, but most of the items I plan to purchase are between $3-$8. How easy is that?????

My first purchase for the Kindle?

Hannah's Hope: Seeking God's Heart In The Midst Of Infertility by Jennifer Saake. It is absolutely amazing!! I read the first three hundred pages in one sitting and I just can't put it down. The author is relating the life of Hannah in the Bible and the struggles she faced while trying to concieve with her own struggles in the 21st century. The similarities are uncanny....watching others get pregnant so easy, attending the birth of someone else's child (showers), answering those horrible questions like "When are you going to have a family?" And the list goes on and on.

Another part of the book that I like so much is the Burden Bearer. This part of each chapter helps others understand what we are going through and how they can be more sensitive. The Burden Bearer for Chapter 2 explains how people should never ask the question "So, do you have any kids?" when they first meet someone. Instead, they should ask something more along the lines of "Tell me a little bit about yourself." Isn't this so true???

Overall I am really learning so much about myself, about Hannah, and how to release my frustrations, desires, and hopes and just let God take control. Afterall, He is already in control...I just needed to realize it.

2009 is a new beginning for me...

Oh...inspiring. I think I NEED that book.
Have you ever read The Conception Chronicles?? It is a hilarious book!!!! I have loved it, and I think I would really enjoy the spiritual aspect of Hannah's Hope.
Thanks for the recommendation!
I am praying for a GREAT 2009 for you!

I have not heard of this book, but it sounds so good. Journeying through infertility is such a roller coaster...and reacting/dealing with other people and their (mostly unintentional) questions and statements was probably one of the hardest things for me.
I am praying for 2009 to be THE year for you!

Well-intentioned people making thoughtless comments or asking inappropriate questions are things we have struggled to deal with as well. Sometimes it still stings...

You and your family are still in my prayers! I hope your 2009 holds lots of love, blessings and miracles.

Love,
Moni

I can't even count the number of times we've been asked 'do you have kids?' All the while I am cringing with how to respond. I am reading Hannah's Hope right now too, and it is really helping me too! I am continuing to pray for you this year!
