Sweet Baby Memory Window...

I created this sweet baby memory window YEARS ago and thought it would be neat to share with all of you with little ones, expecting babies, and those of you (like me) waiting on your very own miracle baby.

I found this old window at an antique shop in Houston. It is a great way to hold and preserve some of your baby's precious items. I created my window with some of MY baby items. Inside you'll find a little dress that I used to wear...

My baby ring...

A pair of ruffled socks...

And I can't forget my great-grandmother's quilt in the background.

I have this collection hanging in our "soon to be" nursery and I can't wait to create a new window with our son or daughter's sweet baby memories.

Collections A-plenty...

Today I am participating in Kelly's Show Us Your Life Edition---What do you collect?

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

I am SUCH a pack-rat, so it was a little hard to come up with ONE thing that I collect. Here are a few samples of my collections...

Anything and everything with our monogram...

Check out this post on my other blog with a TON of pictures of our monogram collection throughout our home.

I also collect STARS!!!

When I was in high school, the name of our dance team was the Sterling Stars, and I have had an infatuation with stars since then. Here is another look at some of my star collection in our backyard.

Here is my collection of wine glasses...

If you were visiting my home for a party, which glass would you choose???

And I guess since I collect wine glasses, I must also collect these....

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my collections a-plenty!!!

I'm a Member...

I finally became an official member of my church last night, Southpoint Community Church!!!
We had four membership classes where we were able to learn the mission of our church, how it started, and who all the key people and ministries are. Although I have been attending SCC for a little over a year now and have already been serving in the nursery, I learned SO much from these classes.
My church has so much to offer and teach me. For starters, we are beginning Beth Moore's Breaking Free Bible Study next week and I couldn't be more excited. Two full months of Beth Moore...at church and in Atlanta :)
I don't mind tooting my own horn, because to be honest, I'm proud of myself for taking this huge step.

Sick to My Stomach...

I have literally made myself sick to my stomach. Everything in my life seems to be stressing me out to the max and because I internalize EVERYTHING, I have literally made myself sick to my stomach.

I came home from work today and my stomach is like one HUGE knot.

All the negativity surrounding me has really gotten the best of me. I feel as if satan is trying to attack me at every angle and I will NOT tolerate it any longer.

I am stronger than this and with His help, I will conquer these feelings.

A Few Quotes...

I took some time yesterday to sit and read So Long, Insecurity by Beth Moore. I have decided to put little sticky notes on some of her quotes that really stand out to me.

"Attitude is everything when it comes to limitations, and the way you view yourself will acutely shape how others view you."

"The truth is, God uses change to change us. He doesn't use it to destroy us or to distract us but to coax us to the next level of character, experience, compassion, and destiny. What will ever cause us to move on to the next place He has for us if something doesn't happen to change the way we feel about where we are?"

"If it is translated as something huge to your heart, it is huge to God on your behalf."

"When we allow God's truth to eclipse every false positive and let our eyes spring open to the treasure we have, there in His glorious reflection we'll also see the treasuer we are."

If you aren't reading this book, you should. I have been so inspired and I'm only on Chapter 6!!!

A Celebrity Shares...

I received my People Magazine this past weekend and I was shocked to see the cover...

Celine Dion shares are trials with IVF...four attempts to be exact!! She conceived her son, who is in 2nd grade, from her first attempt with IVF and now she is trying to give him a little brother or sister. I learned that she did become pregnant with her last IVF, but unfortunately had a miscarriage. So Celine and her husband are trying again.

It just seems so surreal to me to hear that a celebrity is having the same difficulties that a lot of us share...

If you have a minute while waiting to check out at the grocery store, take a peek at the article. It's short, but so very powerful.

Dreaming of the Day...

I have so many real-life friends and bloggy friends that are expecting right now. So I am taking advantage of hearing and reading about all the baby stores and online places where they are shopping.

Of course, I have a few places that I already adore and am anxious to start shopping for our own baby one day. If you'd like to see all the wonderful baby stores, take a look at my right side bar and see all the Florists I have listed.

Recently, a few of my friends have commented about a place called Mod Pea Pod. They have the CUTEST baby bedding I have EVER seen. Not only do they have custom bedding, but they also have a great selection of pre-made bedding.

To be honest...I have been looking at cribs, bedding, nurseries, and clothes for YEARS!!! And for some reason, it NEVER gets old.

I am dreaming of the day when my shopping for our baby is actually a reality!

Insecurity...

I'd like to think that I am a pretty secure person...I know that I am smart, I know that I have a good heart, I am confident when walking in a room, I enjoy shopping by myself, I have gone (several times) by myself to see a movie, and I can speak intelligently in front of an audience. For Heaven's sake, I've been dancing since I was 2 years old and have performed in front of 1000's of people!!!

So when I heard that a few of my bloggy friends were planning a trip to Atlanta to see Beth Moore, I KNEW that I wanted to be a part of it too! So why did I FREAK out about traveling to Atlanta by myself?!?

I talked to some of my close friends in Houston about meeting me there, but unfortunately, it would cost too much for them to fly to Atlanta to meet up with me. AND I emailed one of my friends here in Jax to see if she wanted to drive with me. But I was starting to panic because the event only had limited amount of seating and I didn't want to miss this opportunity to see Beth Moore AND meet up with some of my dearest bloggy friends.

So, this morning, I BOUGHT my tickets!!!!

I thought God was trying to tell me to GET OVER this anxiety and insecurity because the name of the event is So Long, Insecurity. And if that's not God trying to speak directly to me, I don't know what is!!!

So here I come Atlanta! I can't wait to see Beth Moore Live and meet a lot of my favorite bloggy friends!!!!

Happy Right Where I Am...

This is just ONE of the devotionals that I received this past week. I firmly believe that God knew I needed Him and needed to hear His words...

"It's good to be passionate about your dreams, but did you know a dream can become an idol? If that's all you think about and you're not going to be happy unless it happens your way, that's out of balance. The fact is, sometimes you have to put that dream on the altar.

Are you frustrated because you're trying to force things to happen on your timetable? Sometimes we hold on to things so tightly, but actually, when we let them go, that's when God can bring them to pass. If you'll release that frustration and not let it become the center of your attention, but instead use that same time and energy to thank God that He's directing your steps, you open the door for God to give you the desires of your heart.

We have to remember, God already knows what we want and what we are in need of. He's the One who put those desires in us. We shouldn't be consumed by trying to make things happen. Instead, a greater act of faith is to be happy right where you are; to stay open and trust God because He has good plans in store for your future!"
