I Must be a Farmer...

I have said over and over again how HORRIBLE I am at being patient...but the truth is...I am working on it. It's funny because I always thought I was (am) a good teacher...very patient with teaching children a dance routine or how to work out a math problem. But I am NOT good at being patient when it comes to waiting.

It is amazing to me that farmers plant these extravagant crops that cost a TON of money and sit patiently for them to harvest. There is no doubt, no fear, no worrying about whether or not the seeds planted will eventually come to bloom. As a result of God's glory, the patient farmer receives a healthy crop year after year and is given MORE than he can ever imagine.

"…See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm…"(James 5:7-8, NIV)

I too shall wait for God's promises like the farmer waits for his harvest. I will wait with a knowing. I will wait with confidence. And I will put God’s Word into practice, just like the farmer, and I will see the harvest of blessing in my life in return!

Hi! I saw you on the prayer list & just wanted to stop by & say I'm praying for you :) We are struggling also & are seeing a fertility specialist now. I have been off BC for two & half years & have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have faith that maybe this will be our year! God Bless!

What a great example, the Lord will bless you for all the time you spend waiting, hoping, praying to be blessed with a child. The one thing I have learned through infertility is that a child is truly a blessing from the Lord. I pray that the Lord will give you the desires of your heart! Soon!!

Great post - thanks for sharing! I HATE waiting and I am beginning to finally understand that waiting is not counterproductive - instead, it IS the answer to my prayer (for now) and part of His plan for me, for reasons known only to Him.

Hi Lianna.
I came across your post via the April Rose blog. I enjoy reading your posts and know your longing for a baby. Your farmer analagy is great! I am so sorry you are struggling with infertility. I have been there. It is a horribly lonely road. I know the desperation that you feel and the disappointment. I want you to know that you are in my prayers. There is is hope and if you want to be a mommy bad enough, I can tell you... YOU WILL BE!! Hang in there. Gog does have a plan for you.I just started a blog to support couples who are experiencing these issues. My husband and I have adopted our two babies. It was quite a journey and one I never thought I would endure, but here we are.
Anyhow, you are welcome to come and check my blog out. If you have any questions about fertility or even adoption, I am here. :)

God Bless,
-Katie
