Edited to add: This blog post was originally written in August 2008. David and I are now going on almost five years of marriage and four years of trying to conceive. We have recently obtained a Home Study to begin the adoption process, but we are still trying to conceive on our own.
David and I have been married for almost three years and have been TTC (trying to conceive) for over two years. We have had two IUI (intra uterine insemination), two IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedures, and MANY negative pregnancy results. We currently are dealing with unexplained infertility and trying to deal with it financially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
We are hoping that this blog will enable us to meet new people that are in our same situation, hear about new procedures for infertility, and use this as a means to vent about our frustations as well as celebrate our triumphs with starting a family.
We chose this title for our blog because of the scripture Isaiah 58:11. It reads “And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought…And you shall be like a watered garden…”
So, we are starting over with this difficult journey, putting God first and letting Him lead our way.

I ran across your site while searching for the lyrics to "Enjoy the Journey"
What an awesome site you have! I especially love the music.
I wish you well with your journey to have a child but never close off the option of adoption. There are a lot of little ones born everyday that need someone like you to love them. But always remember the movie "Facing the Giants" God I will still praise you...even if you never answer this prayer I will still praise your name!
Those are powerful faith filled words. We don't always understnd the why but we can keep our souls at rest by simply saying "I trust you, God!" and then go on enjoying the life He has given us.
ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

Hello, I have been reading our Be thou knight blog for quite some time and never even noticed this blog. I too deal with the same issues as my husband Nick has Cystic Fibrosis which makes it pretty impossible to have children like any other couple. I look forward to reading more about your experience and hope to learn a bit or two along the way. We have thought a lot about adoption but As A woman it is always A want to birth A child of your own. Im sure you can relate...you will be in my thoughts and prayers... Be strong and know that the time will come when its right..XOXO Amanda Brown
Hi! I just ran across your blog jumping from another blog. I hope you are recovering well from your surgery. Our stories sound similar- my hubby and I have been married 5 years in September and have been TTC for almost 4 years. I had a diagnostic lap done last year where they found mild endo and blocked tubes. We had 3 failed IUI's and then felt like God led us to embryo adoption. We have been pursuing that route since Sept of 09. Our first FET was in July and didn't work. We go back next month for #2. We are praying that God chooses to "grow our garden" thru this journey so I can experience the miracle of pregnancy. I am looking forward to following your journey as well.

Lianna, I will be praying for you and David. I cannot imagine how difficult this journey is for both of you. I found your blog by hitting the "next blog" button at the top of my blog page, http://aaronandmelissa.blogspot.com. I will keep you in my prayers as you wait for God's perfect timing for a child........ Melissa
Hi I am a new blogger as of yesterday and found the "next blog" button today.
I too am a child of our forever faithful loving God Almighty. My husband and I have been happily married for over 15 yrs and as far as I know have NEVER been able to conceive. We have two AMAZING gifts from God, our 13yr old son Malcom and his 11yr old biological brother Kaelon.
I have learned that Gods plan for our lives FAR surpasses Any dream we may have had for our selves.
I will pray for your journey to become a mother...I remember the very long years, the tears, the desperation, the un-watered garden, I remember NOT understanding where God was going with "all this." I hope you can be encouraged today by a mother who NOW understands that her children were just not of her own womb and Gods perfect timing and perfect plan is truly that PERFECT!

No matter how you end up with your child (whether he grows in your belly or your heart) - you will be a great mother (and father!).
Biological grow in your belly. Adopted children grow in your heart. It's all the same love.
Hi!
I just got through reading everything that happened to you. I am so sorry for everything you went through. Praying for your family.
We have one child but in 3 years of TTC I have had 3 miscarriages, and 1 ectopic pregnancy. I was also diagnosed with Endometriosis. Our insurance does not cover IVF so we are not sure what to do right now.
